Random Post 2: Darts and Mellow Gold Music In my garage at home, we have a dartboard, and in this post, I will explain how this dartboard board introduced me to my favorite genre of music. It all began in high school when my dad hung up a dart board and asked me if I wanted to play. I learned to play 301 and cricket and have now played darts with him for over seven years. I love darts, and it's a great way to spend quality time with my dad.  For the first few months, my dad played one album exclusively, Boz Scaggs's Silk Degrees. I can recite every single word from every song from that entire album, especially my favorite song, Georgia. In the book the "No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change: The Science, the Solutions, and the Way Forward" by Danny Chivers, the author lists the current state of our environment, how our actions affect climate change, and what we can do in the fight against global warming. This book was a quick read but was highly informational and provided great insight into our current climate issues. In this post I will explain what the book talks about and conclude with my takeaways. The book begins by breaking down what causes global warming, which is the excess amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. The heat from the sun passes through our atmosphere, reflects off the Earth's surface, and then is trapped inside our atmosphere by carbon dioxide. This process is good for the planet because it allows the Earth to remain warm, but the issue now is that there is too much carbon dioxide in the air due to pollution and carbon emissions from industrial production.  I have chosen to read "The No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change: The Science, the Solutions, and the Way Forward" by Danny Chivers. The reason I chose this book is that I am passionate about sustainability and, in particular, ocean conservation efforts. I am currently in a class at USC called Green Entrepreneurship, and it has been fascinating learning about different sustainable and environmentally friendly businesses. So I am hoping to supplement my studies and learn more about how to save the environment by reading this book.  What I have read so far is the introduction to the book provided by the author, Danny Chivers. He explains that climate change is an immediate issue that we need more time to resolve. He shares that this book is concise but holds vital information about our environment and climate. I am looking forward to reading this book, not only so that I can better understand our current state but also to explain it to others better.

 Right now my dear friend Daniella is visiting me from Miami. So I found it fitting to write about the story of my friend group, the creation of the sophomores (sophs) and seniors, and what we stand for as a group. The year was 2016 and it was my sophomore year of high school. My childhood best friend, Ella, and I just got introduced to the new girl at school named Emma who moved from North Carolina. Ella, Emma, and I all did theatre together and all got cast in the Fall production of "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, we all got very close during this time. Then Emma became friends with a girl in her class named Daniella.
